How is the course delivered?
Live via Zoom and aviable on desktops, tablets and smartphones, the course is presented live by Dr. Simon Keeling.
Broken down into two manageable sessions, this online course is the same as our classroom based course of the same name.
What topics are covered?
How to maximise your flying time, accurately plan the flying weather the next 5-days, and get the aircraft booked before anyone else. We’ll use todays charts to investigate how our flying would have been affected today (for example, would the cloud in the photograph have stopped you flying?). Topics covered included airmasses, the atmosphere, frontal systems, pressure systems, cloud development & forecasting, weather data as well as a Q & A session.
I am an experienced pilot, should I attend?
Yes, this course has been attended by those with no flying experience, through to 777 pilots and everyone said they learned a lot from it.
Will this course help me with my PPL/LAPL/ATPL and equivalent?
You will get under the skin of weather during this course. It will help you think like a weather forecaster and explain why weather happens. It is not a crash-course for passing the PPL or other exams, but it will make you ‘think weather’ and help you pass your exams.
What is included?
Lectures, handouts, full access to Simon and a completion certificate at the end of the course.
What time does the course start & end?
The course is run over two consecutive Tuesday evening sessions from 6.30pm to 9.00pm with breaks included.
Where is the course held?
It’s online and you can access it from anywhere the world with a stable internet connection.
How much does the course cost?
The cost is £279 which includes all handouts and course certificate as well as ongoing questions for Simon.
This must be paid in advance. Numbers are restricted so that everyone gets the maximum from the course, and you can book your place now.
